Welcome to Elm Class - Year 6

These are the Year 6 Class pages; you may also know us as Elm Class.

The teaching staff in Elm Class are Mrs Bruce and Mrs Coxhead.

There are four houses in school: Eagles, Kestrels, Hawks and Falcons and children belong to one of these houses. In Year 6, we have the additional responsibility of being House Captains and Vice Captains. These are elected at the start of the year and are responsible for motivating the members of their house, collecting merits and representing their house in assemblies and at various school vents. Merits are awarded for positivity and achievement in all things! Merits are collected and added up each week by our Year 6 House Captains and at the end of each term the House with the highest total gets a reward.

In Elm Class, we also receive Dojo Points. These are awarded for excellent behaviour for learning. Each Dojo Point means 1 raffle ticket to enter into our weekly draw. The winner receives a small treat and a Shining Star in our Celebration Assembly each Friday.

Year 6 is a challenging year. We are extremely passionate about learning, but we have lots of fun too. Being the oldest in the school has its perks, such as benches in assembly, jobs around the school and playground buddies. We also have lots to look forward to as part of our last term at primary school. Not only do we spend a week on residential at Whitemoor Lakes, but we also put on an end of year play with two evening performances. In addition to this, we have a Leavers' Service at Gloucester Cathedral as well as one in our own church right here in Fairford, St. Mary's.
