Hot meals are available every day, freshly cooked on site by our school meals contractor, Caterlink. We ask parents to pay for school lunches using Parent Pay or Pay Point - details are available from the school office. Alternatively, children may bring a packed lunch. Families receiving family income support are entitled to apply for free school meals. Pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils a free school meal. This is in addition to the free school meals service offered to parents in receipt of qualifying benefits. More information is given on the FSM registration form on the Free School Meal link. Fairford Primary has Healthy School Plus status and the Food for Life Silver Award. We encourage healthy eating and fizzy drinks, chocolate or confectionery are not allowed. As some of our children also have a nut allergy we have a NO NUT policy in school. Should a child be found to have an item in their lunchbox that does not conform with our standards it will be removed and a note to that effect will be sent home.

Our lunchtime supervisors will very often lead themed events such as dressing up, decorating the dining hall and providing wonderful surprises and memories of special occasions in school. We encourage our older pupils to support our younger pupils whilst they are eating their lunch.

The cost of a school meal to children is currently £2.20 per day. This is due to increase to £2.28 as of the 24th April 2017.

The cost of a school meal for an adult visiting the school is £2.64 increasing to £2.73 as of April 24th 2017. We welcome any adults - parents, grandparents and community members to join us for lunch. An adult lunch must be ordered 24 hours in advance.

We encourage children to bring an item of fresh fruit or vegetables for a morning break time snack. Pupils in Reception, Year1 and Year 2 are provided with free fruit under the government’s ‘School Fruit and Vegetables’ scheme.
